At the table

You read the question out: “How much did it cost to mail a postcard in America in 1947?” The room votes A, B or C. Then you read the line under the answer, “Who sent you postcards, and from where?”, and hand it to the guest of honor first.

The first Levittown, a 1947 suburb of look-alike houses, was in which state?

The 3 games

Why it works

You can host it without a pair of scissors: every game can be read aloud from its Host Pack, and the answer sheets print once.

The guest of honor is the expert on 1947, and everyone else gets a fair guess: three choices in the trivia, A or B in Which Came First, and sayings the whole room finishes out loud. Relatives who cannot be there can play along from a slide deck on a video call. Years and sayings were checked against published sources.

Made for: Friends, family and coworkers planning an 80th birthday, at home, in a church hall, at a senior community or at the office.
