Paddles go up, A against B. After the answer and its fun fact you read the card’s own question, “How did people pay for things before credit cards and cash machines?”, and hand the floor to the table.

“The Empire State Building opens” or “The Statue of Liberty is dedicated”?

Why it works

Nobody is expected to know a date; guessing is the game. Every pair is at least 15 years apart, so the answer never hangs on a few months, and every year was checked against at least two published sources. Easy Mode has no pencils and no scores, only paddles.

Made for: Senior centers and senior living groups; also family visits and church socials. US-themed.
