At the table

You read the question out: “Which city saw snow for the first time in its recorded history in January 1977?” The room votes A, B or C. Then you read the line under the answer, “What is the biggest snow you remember, and how did you get around?”, and hand it to the guest of honor first.

What did the two Voyager probes of 1977 carry for anyone who might find them?

The 3 games

Why it works

You can host it without a pair of scissors: every game can be read aloud from its Host Pack, and the answer sheets print once.

The guest of honor is the expert on 1977, and everyone else gets a fair guess: three choices in the trivia, A or B in Which Came First, and sayings the whole room finishes out loud. Relatives who cannot be there can play along from a slide deck on a video call. Years and sayings were checked against published sources.

Made for: Friends, family and coworkers planning a 50th birthday, at home, in a rented room or at the office.
