Time: 10 minutes for a quick team round, 20 for a slower one
You need: pencils and a timer for the team race. Show cards need nothing

Print size: body text 18 pt. Each show card fills a page

At the table

You hold up a show card: a row of pictures and one line of text, “What Christmas word or carol is it?” The room says the pictures out loud. If it goes quiet, you read that puzzle’s hint: “dense loaf, often regifted”.

Why it works

A picture puzzle falls flat when the answer is read out and half the room cannot see why. This Answer Key explains each one: which picture stands for which sound or word, and how they join. Stars from one to three mark the difficulty, so you can open with the easy ones. No answer is printed on a puzzle sheet or a show card.
