A good Bible trivia night feels like a Bible study with a scoreboard. Every answer can be found in Scripture, newcomers and lifelong members start level, and each question opens a little conversation at the table. Here are eight real questions from our games, from easy to hard, and how to run the evening.
Eight Bible trivia questions with answers
These come from three of our games and are copied exactly as printed in the Host Packs, answers and references included. Read each question and its choices aloud, twice if it helps, then read the answer and the verse.
Easy: In the Beginning
From Round 1 of the Bible Quiz Game:
What was the name of the garden God planted for Adam? A. Gethsemane · B. Canaan · C. Eden (Answer: C, Eden. Genesis 2:8.)
The Life of Jesus
From Round 2:
At a wedding in which town did Jesus turn water into wine? A. Bethany · B. Cana · C. Jericho (Answer: B, Cana. John 2:1-11.)
Who said it?
From Round 3, where each question asks who spoke a line from Scripture:
Who said, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”? A. Moses · B. Joshua · C. Gideon (Answer: B, Joshua. Joshua 24:15.)
For Bible scholars
From Round 4, the hardest of the four:

A tie-breaker: closest number wins
When the risen Jesus met His disciples by the sea, how many large fish did Simon Peter haul ashore in the net? (Answer: 153.)
The Host Pack adds that older translations spell it out, “an hundred and fifty and three”, and that the net was not torn.
Which came first? Church history
From Church History: Which Came First, two choices and both years in the answer:
Which came first? A. The Gideons begin leaving Bibles in hotel rooms · B. Gutenberg prints a Bible on his new press (Answer: B. A: 1908, B: 1455.)
Which came first? A. Mother’s Day is first kept at a church service · B. Mother’s Day becomes a national holiday (Answer: A. A: 1908, B: 1914.)
The Christmas story
From the Christmas Bible Quiz:
What were the shepherds doing in the fields that night? A. Sleeping soundly · B. Keeping watch · C. Counting stars (Answer: B, Keeping watch. Luke 2:8.)
After each answer the Host Pack has a fun fact and a “Talk about it” question for the table. After the garden question, for instance, it asks: “If you could plant any garden, what would you grow in it?”
Easy and hard Bible questions: how the rounds are built
The Bible Quiz Game climbs from questions most Sunday school classes know to ones that send people to their concordance:
| Round | Theme | What it asks |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | In the Beginning | Creation, Noah, Moses, David and Goliath, Jonah |
| 2 | The Life of Jesus | Bethlehem to the cross: places, people, miracles |
| 3 | Who Said It? | Famous lines, from Cain to Pontius Pilate |
| 4 | For Bible Scholars | Ehud, Eutychus, Aquila and Priscilla, Balaam’s donkey |
Three answers to choose from keep the hard round friendly: a player who can’t name Ehud can often reason toward him.
How to host a Bible trivia night
- Print for the room. One answer sheet per player or team and the score board from the Game file; the Host Pack, with every answer, is for you alone.
- Seat people in tables of 3 to 6, each table agreeing on one answer. Mixed tables put a newcomer beside someone who knows the book of Esther.
- Open the evening with a short prayer or a favorite verse, as many groups like to do.
- Show each question. Hold up its card, put the TV slides on screen or simply read it aloud, and allow about 20 seconds (30 for teams).
- Read the answer, the verse and the fun fact. Keep a Bible on the table so a volunteer can read the verse aloud.
- After each round, swap sheets with a neighbor, mark them and copy the scores to the score board.
- Settle a tie with a tie-breaker: everyone writes a number and the closest wins. Then present the winner certificate.
Bible trivia for seniors
For a senior ministry, a care home chapel group or a Bible study of longtime members, keep it short and seated. The Gentle 20 in the Host Pack lists the friendliest questions for a relaxed 20-minute game. In Easy Mode nobody writes: everyone holds up an A, B or C paddle, and everyone who is right earns a point. The question cards print at 40 pt or larger and the body text at 18 pt, and any question can be skipped, no reason needed.
