At the table

A guest needs initials for “slept through midnight” and finds a taker sooner than expected. When the line is read aloud, the Host List has the follow-up: “What makes an early night so cozy?”

“has held a sparkler”, and the host asks: “What shape did you draw with your sparkler?”

Three ways to play

Mingle on foot, stay seated at your own table, or Hands Up: the host reads and nobody walks.

Why it works

The winner reads the line aloud and each signer tells the story of their square, so the game ends in talk. Nothing in it needs midnight: it plays at a noon countdown as well as late at night, and no square is about alcohol. Anyone may say “not me” or pass. Within each size, no two cards share a line.

Made for: House parties, office gatherings in the first week of January, and noon countdowns at senior centers.
